Chapter 8
Embracing The Living God

Oh what a wonderful feeling to be embraced by the Living God! To be protected, and comforted, and sheltered in our times of trouble. And imagine the peace, the warmth, the joy, when we are free to embrace in return - to have a genuine relationship of mutual trust. Think about the hope, the assurance, the positiveness that embraces those who cling to, entwine, nestle, and lock themselves in the arms of The Almighty. Welcome those thoughts into your mind and let them absorb into your system....

The biggest problem in the world today is lack of love. Embracing drugs, sex, anger, and hate, instead of enfolding ourselves in the wings of our Lord and Savior. Investing our time on bad relationships, ungodly principals, poor money investments, revengeful thoughts and acts, and trivial pursuits, leaving us hearbroken, empty, and oppressed.

Our children today are enthralled by the violence in the schools, gripped, bound as if by a spell. They are enraptured, fill with overwhelming emotion in wonder and delight. Who will be the next victim, these children of broken homes and broken hearts? Will it be one of yours?

Think about it!

Of course every Christian knows, that without God there is only Satan, who now has control of public schools. So why so surprised? And the world, who satan so lavishly adorns with his exessive luxuries, yearns for the high dollar prize. But the High Prize cannot begotten through material possessions, it can only begotton through the penetrating, all-embracing love of Christ.

Embracing God's Protection

We can begin to embrace God through the discovery of His awesome protection, even though we're still in bondage.

Though we are slaves, our God has not deserted us
in our bondage. He has shown us kindness in the
sight of the kings of Persia: He has granted us
new life to rebuild the house of our God and repair
its ruins, and he has given us a wall of protection.
Ezra 9:9

David speaks of God's awesome protection when said, "But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you." He is asking God to spread His wings of protection over everyone who has a firm belief in the integrity, ability, and genuineness of God - Those who truly love the Lord.

You too can obtain this same protection, simply by snuggling up close and letting God embrace you, for this He will be overjoyed. "The Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one". 2 Thessalonians 3:3. God promises His protection - He said that He will protect your life. "The LORD will protect you and preserve your life; he will bless you and keep you safe from your enemies".

God promises to protect you, but you must believe in His protection. You must know that when danger comes, He will thwart the enemy and prevent him from achieving his goal. Embrace this promise and don't let go. Say aloud, "God enthrone me in Your presence; appoint your love and faithfulness to protect me. You said, 'Because He loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name'. Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked, be my hiding place; You will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.

May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope is in you. Do not withhold your mercy from me, O LORD; may your love and your truth always protect me. Deliver me from my enemies, O God; protect me from those who rise up against me. Hear me, O God, as I voice my complaint; protect my life from the threat of danger. Holy Father, protect me by the power of your Name—so that we may be one as Christ and You are one, in the Name of Jesus, Amen.

This is the exact way David prayed for the protection of His Father. What do you think He did next? He praised Him and glorified His Name, "O LORD, You will keep us safe and protect us from such people forever". He said, "YOU WILL keep us safe." He told God He knew that He would keep Him safe, and that's what you must do too. You must trust, without skepticism or suspicion, that God WILL DO WHAT HE SAYS. You must know that it is in the hands of God, so you can relax and go about your business.

Isn't it wonderful when we embrace the protection
of the Almighty? What a glorious life it shall be!

Embracing God's Comfort

Did you know that God is the God of all comfort? "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort." 2 Corinthians 1:3. Isn't that comforting to know! "Who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God". 2 Corinthians 1:3. He gives us hope and strength in times of grief, distress, and suffering - He eases our anquish and pain. He encourages, inspires, and uplifts our spirit when trials and tribulations are near.

How would you like to be comforted in your times of troubles. How would you like to be consoled by someone who loves you so much, that your burdens will actually be lifted from you?

God promises "As a mother comforts
her child, so will I comfort you".

If you want the comfort only God can give, then embrace that comfort and say aloud, "May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise. Comfort me O Lord, turn my mourning into gladness; give me comfort and joy instead of sorrow, like you said in Your word. Forgive me and comfort me, so that I may forgive and comfort others. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Guide me and restore comfort to me, in the Name of Jesus, Amen".

Feel the comfort come upon you and rest assurred that God will not fail you. Trust that God's comfort will surround you and bring you consolation in the everday stresses of life. And when God embraces you with His comfort, don't forget to comfort someone in trouble, the one God sends your way.

God Our Provider

Jehovah Jireh, My provider! Hallallujah!! "And Abraham said, my son, God will Provide…And He called the name of that place Jehovah-Jireh"...GENESIS 22:8 & 14. Yes, God provides everything we need in our lives. He provides you with plenty of food, good health, a sufficient income, and fills your heart with joy. He provides you with safe-conduct, a home of your own, and He gives strength in your times of weakness. And those who put their hope in God, He richly provides with everything they need for their enjoyment.

How difficult would it be to embrace the promise of being provided with everything we need? And look what else He provides.

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man.
And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond
what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also
provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
1 Corinthians 10:13

He provides a way out of our temptations! When the pressure of giving in to a desire becomes overwhelming, God provides a way for us to endure without succumbing. When you're pursuaded to act on sensual pleasures, or seduced by greed or fame, you'll have the strength not to give in.

God is our provider therefore let's be thankful and say to Him, "Thank you Father for Your favor, Your grace, Your mercy. Thank you creating me to be free and alive, a part of your creations. Thank you for the variety of wonderful food you provide, a warm place to lay my head, the clothes upon my back. Thank you Oh, my God, for my friends, my family, for all the people you have given for my joy and comfort. Thank you God for providing me with everything I need, in Jesus Name, Amen.

Be thankful for everything God has provided for you, and He will give you more, guaranteed.

God Our Defender

This is what the LORD says: "I will defend your cause and avenge you; I will dry up her sea and make her springs dry. And David said, "God is A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, in his holy dwelling." You have a defender and He is strong; He will take up their case against you. Proverbs 23:10-12.

Have you ever had someone love you so much that they will defend your every cause? God Does! He will drive danger or attack away from you; He will guard, protect, fend-off, and crush the oppressor. He defends the afflicted, the needy and the poor. He will defend any claim regardless of all evidence to the contrary, He will plead your case not guilty. Isiah revealed this truth, "When they cry out to the LORD because of their oppressors, he will send them a savior and defender, and he will rescue them".

God said He will defend your cause and avenge you, so embrace this promise; claim it as your own and say aloud, "Defend my cause and redeem me Oh Lord; preserve my life according to your promise. Declare me innocent, despite opposition or objections. Fight my battle for me, dear God, for I'm too weak to fight my own; crush my oppressor, in the name of Jesus amen.

Take your bad judgements, your sins, your faults and mis-haps to God and let Him defend you. Stated you case clearly and He will act as your attorney, and win your case.
